Angel Puff
This recipe is from my
Grandmother's 1938 Watkins cookbook
12 egg whites, beaten stiff
2 C. sugar, added gradually
fold in:
1/8 t. salt
1 t. vanilla or almond extract
Put into 2 round ungreased layers & bake 1 hour in a slow oven. (325 degrees) Use whipped cream, flavored, between & in a thin layer to cover. Chopped nuts may be added. Use 10 inch round tins. Garnish with ripe strawberries.
