Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chip Cookies
Be sure chocolate & peanut butter chips are cool when you mix them into the batter; soft chips will lose their shape & blend into the batter.


2-3/4 C. flour......................................................3 eggs

1 t. baking soda...................................................1-1/2 t. vanilla extract

1/2 C. butter, softened.........................................1-1/2 C. chopped walnuts

1/2 C. shortening.................................................12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 C. granulated sugar........................................12 oz. peanut butter chips

1 C. light brown sugar, firmly packed

Combine flour & baking soda, set aside.

With electric mixer, cream butter & shortening together. gradually add sugars. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla.

Stir in dry ingredients & mix well. Add walnuts & chocolate and peanut butter chips. Mix well with hands; mixture will be stiff.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto well greased baking sheets. Refrigerate unused dough while batches are baking. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes, or until light brown. Cookies will continue to bake when removed from oven.
