Swiss Steak


Dip 4 (four) 6 oz. 1/2" thick top round steaks in flour & brown lightly in a heavy skillet. When nicely browned, take out & place in roaster or baking dish; salt & pepper to taste.

Chop a medium-sized onion and sprinkle over steaks. Make a gravy from drippings using 1/4 C. flour & 2 C. water. When thickened, add a 6 oz. can tomato sauce or puree; pour over steaks. Bake at 350° for 1 hour, or until meat is tender.
