Hot Buttered Cranberry Punch
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
3/4 tsp. ground cloves
cinnamon sticks
2 cans jellied cranberry sauce
or 1 1/2 qt. canned cranberry juice
1 1/2 qt. pineapple juice
butter or margarine
3 c. water
Day Before: In large saucepan, bring to boil sugar, 1
cup water and cranberry juice (if you use cranberry sauce, beat
it until smooth). Add 3 cups of water. Add pineapple juice
and spices to hot syrup and simmer 5 minutes. At serving time,
serve with cinnamon stick stirrers after heating punch over low
heat. Add dots of butter and a dash of nutmeg.
