Tasti Burgers

Note from Author:
Use this recipe as a guideline to create some awesome hamburgers (it works with turkey burgers too!). Mix the meat hours ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to cook for the best flavor. Grilling is best in my opinion, especially over an open fire. You can easily double or triple this recipe to feed a crowd. Mix and match burger mix-ins to suit your taste. For instance, not everyone will like the spice of jalapenos, but these make awesome Southwestern style burgers (barbecue sauce works better than soy sauce in this instance). You'll probably come up with your own additions as well.

Once you've made the patties, serve these burgers with your choice of favorite toppings.

Begin with:
1 lb ground beef

Then, Mix and Match According to Taste:
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 onion, minced
1/2 bell pepper, minced
1-3 tablespoons minced jalapeno peppers
1/4 C minced mild green chiles
1/3 c grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 C minced black olives
1 egg
mixed fresh chopped herbs like basil, parsley, cilantro or dill
1/3 C seasoned breadcrumbs
2-3 tablespoons soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce
1/4 C barbecue sauce
Serves 4

Mix ground meat with your choice of add-ins, shape into patties and grill or broil as usual. Serve on a bun with favorite toppings or use ground sirloin and serve on a plate like a steak dinner.
