Apricot Banana Bread

1/3 C. butter or margarine, softened
2/3 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 C. mashed ripe bananas (2 to 3 medium)
1/4 C. buttermilk
1-1/4 C. flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 C. 100% bran cereal (not flakes)
3/4 C. chopped dried apricots (about 6 oz.)
1/2 C. chopped walnuts
In a mixing bowl, cream butter & sugar. Add eggs; mix well. Combine bananas & buttermilk in a measuring cup. Combine flour, soda, powder & salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with banana mixture. Stir in bran, apricots & nuts. Pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 3" loaf pan; bake at 350° for 55-60 minutes, or until bread tests done. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a rack to cool completely.
