Frozen Banana Punch
5 large very ripe bananas (liquefy in blender)
1 (12 oz.) can frozen orange juice
1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemonade
1 (46 oz.) pineapple juice
5 c. sugar
5 c. hot water
4 to 6 qt. ginger ale and Sprite
Dissolve sugar in hot water, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved. Pour
lemonade into blender. Turn blender on, liquefy. Drop pieces of banana into
lemonade in blender until all are liquefied. Pour into 2-gallon container. Add
orange juice, sugar-water mixture and pineapple juice. Stir until thoroughly
mixed. Put mixture into containers to freeze. Makes approximately 10 pints or 5
quarts base and will keep for months in freezer.
To serve: Remove frozen base from freezer 20 to 30 minutes before time to serve. In large bowl, break frozen base into chunks. Add approximately 1 cup ginger ale and 1 cup Sprite to 1-quart base. Use a wire whip to mix; should be consistency of "slush" when served. The amount of ginger ale and Sprite used depends on how thick you want the punch, so should be added in small amounts. Pour into chilled punch bowl. Makes approximately 50 (5 ounce) servings.
