Witches' Stew
bloody bones - 3 to 4 lb. soup bones or
oxtail bones
magic powder - salt
sneezing powder - pepper
blood clots - small can tomatoes
fingers - small whole carrots
toad stools - mushrooms
tear gas bomb - whole onion
shrunken heads - Brussels sprouts
snails - 10 or less large shell macaroni
snakes - 4 or 5 pieces spaghetti
maggots - rice (few grains)
worms - bean sprouts
warts - garbanzo beans
magic roots - potatoes
Cook soup bones until meat on them is tender and done. Add to taste any of the
ingredients or a little of all, a few of each ingredient makes it better. Cook
until vegetables are done. A large cup or bowl of this must be eaten before
trick or treating to guarantee against stomach aches. Must be eaten before dark.
One garlic clove may be added if vampires are expected to be out.
