Harvest Bars
1-1/2 C. butter..........................................4 T. flour (to dredge nuts & dates)
2 C. brown sugar......................................1 C. flour
2 t. vanilla.................................................1 t. baking powder
4 eggs......................................................1 t. salt
1-1/2 C. pumpkin.....................................1/2 t. baking soda
1 C. chopped dates..................................1 t. cinnamon
1 C. chopped nuts....................................1 t. nutmeg
1 t. ground ginger
Cream the butter, sugar & vanilla together. Add the eggs, beating well. Add the pumpkin & blend
Dredge the dates & nuts in the 4 T. of flour. Sift all the remaining dry ingredients & add to the creamed mixture with dates & nuts. Bake in a greased 10-1/2 x 15" jelly roll panat 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool, cut into bars.
Drizzle with powdered sugar & milk glaze, if desired.
