Irish Coffee Dessert


2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
1 c. cold milk
1 c. milk, heated to boiling
2/3 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. instant coffee powder
2 Tbsp. Irish whiskey
2 Tbsp. Creme de Cacao
1 c. (1/2 pt.) whipping or heavy cream
1 c. ice cubes (about 6 to 8)

In a 5-cup blender or food processor, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over cold milk and let stand 3 to 4 minutes. Add hot milk and process at low speed until gelatin is completely dissolved, about 2 minutes. Add sugar, coffee, powder, whiskey, creme de cacao and cream. Process at high speed on blender or medium speed on food processor until well blended. Add ice cubes, one at a time and process at high speed until ice is melted. Pour into Irish coffee mugs or dessert dishes and chill until set. Garnish, if desired, with additional whipped cream and chocolate curls. Makes 6 desserts.
