Double-Decker Confetti Brownies
¾ C. butter or margarine, softened
1 C. sugar
1 C. light brown sugar, packed
3 eggs
1 t. vanilla
2 ½ C. flour, divided
2 ½ t. baking powder
½ t. salt
1/3 C. cocoa
1 T. butter or margarine, melted
1 C. mini m&m baking bits, divided
In a large bowl, cream ¾ butter &
sugars until light & fluffy; beat in eggs & vanilla. In a medium bowl,
combine 2 ¼ C. flour, baking powder & salt; blend into creamed mixture.
Divide batter in half. Blend together cocoa & melted butter; stir into one
half of the dough. Spread evenly into a lightly greases 13x9”
pan. Stir remaining ¼ C. flour & ½ C. baking bits into remaining
dough; spread evenly over cocoa dough in pan. Sprinkle with remaining baking
bits. Bake at 350º for 25 to 30 minutes, or until edges start to pull away from
sides of pan. Cool completely before cutting. Store in an airtight container.
Yield: 24 brownies
