Mom's Day Strawberry Pie


1 c. sugar
1 c. water
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
3 Tbsp. strawberry Jell-O
1 (3 oz.) softened cream cheese
1 pt. or more strawberries
1 (9-inch) pie shell, baked
4 oz. whipping cream, whipped or 8 oz. frozen whipped topping, thawed

Combine sugar, water and cornstarch; cook over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens. Remove from heat and add Jell-O. Cool while preparing berries. Spread cream cheese
in bottom of baked pie shell and top with strawberries. Cover with strawberry mixture. Allow to chill at least 1 hour. Top with cream or whipped topping.
