Did you know that Wilton has pie pans shaped like PUMPKINS? I had to 'call' the pies a couple of months ahead that year just so I could show off!
I made the stem & leaves out of leftover pie dough, and painted it with a mixture of water & paste food colors. I also mixed up some milk, flour, & sugar, colored it & piped it on for raised detail on them before baking. The dark lines on the pumpkin are simply the custard, colored darker & piped on before baking. (Note: I baked the leaves & stem separate from the actual pie & attached them with piping gel.)
