School Day Chowder
2 to 3 hot dogs
2 c. (total) combined in any desired portions: thinly sliced carrots, celery,
green pepper and onion
1 to 2 Tbsp. margarine
1 can condensed cream soup (chicken, etc.)
1 can milk
pepper (if desired)
1/4 to 1/2 c. chunks of Cheddar cheese
Prepare vegetables. In medium saucepan, melt margarine; add vegetables and sauté
until slightly soft (5 to 10 minutes). Meanwhile, cut hot dogs into 1/4-inch
pennies. Add meat, soup and milk to pan with vegetables. Heat about 10 minutes.
Add cheese; let rest a few minutes to soften and partially melt cheese. Serve
with crisp crackers. Wonderful on a cold blustery day.
