Peanut Butter Brownies
1/2 C. (1 stick) butter
1 C. + 2 T. sugar
1/2 C. cocoa
2 eggs
1/2 C. flour
1/2 t. salt
1/4 C. creamy peanut butter
2 T. butter, softened
Glaze:
1/2 C. powdered sugar
2 T. creamy peanut butter
1 T. milk
2 T. chopped pecans
In a medium saucepan, heat butter over medium-low heat until melted. Stir in sugar, cocoa & eggs. Add flour & salt to chocolate mixture; stir until smooth. Pour into a lightly b uttered 8" square baking pan. Drop peanut butter by teaspoonfuls onto brownie batter, swirl gently to marbleize. Bake 30 minutes at 350°, or just until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan & pick near center comes out clean (do NOT overbake). Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
For glaze: Combine sugar & peanut butter. Stir in milk, 1 Tablespoon at a time, to reach spreading consistency. Spread evenly over brownies; sprinkle with peanuts. Cut into bars to serve.
