Toffee Crunch Blondies
2-1/4 C. all-purpose flour...................1 C. firmly packed brown sugar.
1 t. baking powder..............................2 eggs
1/2 t. baking soda...............................2 T. milk
1/2 t. salt............................................1 t. vanilla
1/2 C. butter or margarine, softened....6 oz. package semisweet chocolate chips
10 oz. package toffee bits, divided
In a medium bowl, mix dry ingredients; set aside. In a large bowl with mixer at high speed, beat butter & brown sugar till well blended. Beat in eggs, milk & vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in 1-1/4 C. of the toffee bits & all of the chocolate chips. Spread batter into a greased 13x9" baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes, until edges begin to pull away from sides of pan. Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle with remaining 1/2 C. toffee bits. Cool completely in pan on wire rack; cut into bars. Yield: about 36 bars.
